About Us

Hi! I’m Katie Rauch (Rauch rhymes with cow, which is actually where our tallow comes from). Smooth, I know, that’s all you need to know about me. Buuuuuuuut, I’ll tell you more anyway….

If you would have told me fifteen years ago that I would create natural skincare that would help heal and nourish skin I would have laughed…and then gone home to cry. My skin has been critically dry since my first memories. Issues escalated when my family moved to Miles City, MT back in 2003. The dry, cold climate was awful on my skin. I remember the first time the skin on my knees and elbows cracked and started bleeding…not great for a self conscious, new kid at a new middle school. I wore long sleeves to cover up and tried every lotion I could. Nothing worked. I couldn’t wear makeup without my skin drying and flaking. The years went on, and added aging to the already complicated cocktail of skin issues I had.

In 2014 I had my third child, and first son, Nash. By his first year I was noticing red scaly patches on his sides, legs, and arms. He had eczema. I was so frustrated that the one thing I didn’t want to pass to my kids had been given to one. So I went down a rabbit hole…I began a years-long mission to find a solution. Not a treatment or a band aid, but a SOLUTION to treat, help HEAL, and PREVENT our skin from affecting our daily lives. The white labeled Whipped Tallow Balm products will always be special to me, a labor of love and devotion that changed our lives.

So, welcome to Rauch Family Farm. A place where we whip up small batches of high quality tallow, in a tiny house, on a little farm in NE Kansas.
